Child Passenger Safety Program

Studies have shown that a properly installed child safety seat can reduce the risk of serious injury or death by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers (NHTSA 2006c).

The Vehicle & Traffic Law in NYS requires children ages 0-4 be secured in a child safety seat, and children ages 4-8 be secured in a booster seat in conjunction with the vehicle's lap belt and harness.

It is important to make sure that your child restraint system is being used properly. To ensure your seat is installed properly you can schedule an appointment with Sergeant Linda Salov by calling the Police Department at 941-2130 or by emailing her at lsalov@briarcliffmanor.org.
