CROSSING THE CROTON:PART 2; SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12 at 2pm
Crossing the Croton: Part 2 - Sunday, November 12 at 2:00 pm in the W.J. Vescio Community Center (attached to the library)

Carl Oechsner and Marc Cheshire will present part two of their series on the bridges of the lower Croton River. Starting east of Quaker Bridge in the late 1800s, they will tell the inspiring story of the construction of the New Croton Dam and all the long-gone temporary construction bridges, rope bridges and train bridges that made the massive project possible. They’ll also tell the sad stories of the destruction of the Wire Mill Bridge, Hunters Brook community, and the flooding of the Croton River Valley. This program is cosponsored with the Briarcliff Manor-Scarborough Historical Society.

Seating is not reserved and is limited.  Registration for this program is recommended.  To register, please contact Karen Smith at mail@briarcliffhistory.org or Shelley Glick at sglick@wlsmail.org or at 914-941-7072.
