Village Manager’s Special Report – 19 June 2017
We received a Severe Weather and Flash Flooding Alert by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for our lower
Hudson River Region.
ETA: early afternoon, Monday, 19 June, like shortly.
For our local area, we are being advised to see 2-3 inches of rain overall with possible rainfall rates spikes of 1-2 inches per hour possible.
It is suggested that scattered storms may produce wind gust of 40+ MPH potentially causing localized downed trees and power lines. There could be numerous, rolling thunderstorms producing lightning strikes.
In the event of storm damage to power lines, first report outages to Con Ed at 1-800-75-CON ED (26633) … and be sure to get an “incident number”. Thereafter, report the event and incident number to the VBM-PD 914-941-2130 and myself, firstname.lastname@example.org.
At this point in time, the weather alert is to run at least until 8:00 PM tonight.
