The Media and Communications Committee is responsible for the following:
* Advising the Village government of objectives to be obtained in the Village's cable communications system based upon its continued evaluation of the Village's cable television franchise, cable technology and the future cable-related needs and interests of the community.
* Serving as an advisory body for the public, educational and municipal access
channels of cable television and any institutional programming that may be developed.
* Arranging for increased programming on the Government Access Channel.
Revising the use of the Cable Access Channels to gain increased coverage for schools.
* Working with the Village's cable television franchisee to improve the program choices, service response time and reception of cable service to the residents of our area.
* Cooperate with the school district regarding telecommunication issues.
* Producing videotapes for exhibition on the Government Access Channel.
* Assisting Community Organizations in arranging for cablecast and/or cable production of special events.
* Providing a report on offering a Public Access Channel (this report should discuss utilizing Ossining GOTV as an alternative).
